Membership is open to any individual/family interested in the welfare of children. A family membership may consist of more than one member.
Membership is only $5.00 for the entire school year! The PTO will of course take any additional donations that you would like to contribute.
A good way to find this out is to attend the PTO meetings, which are listed on the PTO calendar. Basically, the Joseph Sims PTO raises and spends almost $100,000 every year, which allows us to supplement funding to the classrooms, with purchases going for everything from balls to play structures and from projectors to books for the library.
The PTO has one or two really large fundraisers per year that we need tons of help with. The first is the Ice Cream Social. Stay tuned for flyers requesting help. A second fundraiser is the Crab Feed. Watch our website for more info later in the year. We are looking for people to fill some open Committee Chair positions. We encourage team co-chairs, make it a fun night cutting box top labels out. It is much easier when you have a buddy to help you. Come to the next PTO meeting and see how you can become involved.
